I build full-stack applications — React front ends over Python and Java APIs — and the part I am least willing to hand off is the one underneath: the data model, the query paths, and the failures that do not announce themselves. Three internships so far, each shipping something the company uses daily rather than a prototype. The most instructive was an HR assistant that answered confidently and wrongly: the cause was in retrieval, not in the model, and finding that out taught me more than any feature I have written.
